Bariatric surgery and the continuing maintenance program that follows usually requires the use of a number of vitamins and supplements. During these difficult times many individuals are experiencing hardships and one of the last things a bariatric surgery patient wants to skip on is the supplement that are going to help with recovery and a successful maintenance program. Our sponsor Bariatric Advantage has announced the Bariatric Advantage “Recover” Program which will become official August 1, 2009. This program is directed to the many bariatric surgical programs that are helping less fortunate patients “Recover” from obesity through surgical intervention, and or patient’s whom have been caught up in the economic downturn and are working to “Recover” financially while trying to take care of their health.

For those of you not familiar with Bariatric Advantage, they provide a complete line of nutritional supplements that have been specifically formulated to meet the unique demands of both the pre-operative bariatric surgical candidate and the post-operative bariatric surgical candidate. I learned about this company through my own bariatric surgeon prior to surgery in July 2008. I have since use the products and have been extremely pleased.

Thia new assistance program will be administered through a 501(c) (3) accredited foundation(s) or charity(s). Bariatric Advantage expects to be able to serve the vitamin needs of 500-1,000 patient’s in 2009, and expects the program to expand even larger in 2010 and beyond.

Tom Kinder, CEO of Bariatric Advantage stated, “We are grateful to the bariatric surgical and patient marketplace that we have been serving since 2002 and welcome this opportunity to help those patients and programs to “Recover” and to maximize their outcomes from this new lease on life”

The program details including the process required to participate in the “Recover” program will be available by July 20, 2009. If you are interested in learning more CLICK HERE by doing so you can go ahead and submit your information at this time.

    Hey Big Brother,
I clicked on “CLICK HERE” and it just took me to another article but nothing to do with the “Recover” program. Thought you might like to know. It sounds like it is a neat program. Don’t know if I would qualify, but it sounds pretty cool. Mark has been doing even better since we saw y’all a few weeks ago. He sees his Daibetese doc tomorrow so we will see how far his weight is down. We have been walking every other night together and he has been doing Tai Bo everyother day. I’m really proud of him, and it has been all on his own! Hope all is well with you.

Melinda, thanks for making that catch. The link to the Recover program has been corrected in the article. When I saw you and Mark a couple of weeks ago the two of you were looking great and really getting the weight off. And folks reading this Melinda and Mark have been taking the pounds off the old fashioned way by diet and exercise. If a person can get their weight off and keep it off by diet and exercise that is the best way. For me, I chose weight loss surgery after years of yo-yo dieting and am happy that I did but weight loss surgery should NEVER be a persons first choice. Surgery is but a tool and you still need to control your diet and continue exercise after surgery if you are going to maintain a lower weight.
