Super Shot Reduces Body Weight by 25% in a Single Week
Gastric bypass surgery is perhaps the closest answer we presently have to a cure for obesity. Is weight loss surgery going to be replaced in the future by an injection? It would certainly be marvelous if a “super shot” would truly enable us to rapidly lose and control our weight and “cure” diabetes.
Researchers at Indiana University have reported that they are working on a new drug that much like weight loss surgery will control both obesity and diabetes. On Monday July 14, 2009 the university released their study in the online journal Nature Chemical Biology. According to ABC News, the study reported that two natural hormones combined into a single drug suppressed appetite and increased metabolism in rodents. Within one week of the injection fat mass was reduced by 42 percent and body weight by 25 percent. Let me remind you that this study was on mice and not humans.
While the Super Shot may offer some real hope that obesity and diabetes can be controlled this easy do not expect any thing soon! A lot more testing needs to be done before the drug will be ready for humans. Do not expect this to be available next week or even next year in fact don’t expect to see the Super Shot on the market for about another ten years.
While some day we may have a magic weight loss Super Shot I certainly would encourage you to not wait for it. Control your weight now by diet and exercise and if that is not working it may be time to discuss weight loss surgery with your physician.

AQ Super Shot really does sound great. The one thing that bothers me about losing weight that rapidly is the possible harm it may do to ones body. Dropping weight quickly is great but dropping dead quickly is not so great!
Things are great here in the Weinheimer family. It is one year tomorrow that I had gastric bypass surgery. While I have not gotten down to a perfect weight this past year I feel great and more importantly it is nice to be able to go to a restaurant and be seated in a booth and still have room between the table top and my belly.

I can sure see where it could be tempting to want to be in on the trial. The sad truth is that a person is taking a risk that may be a lot greater than morbid and super obesity to be a human guinea pig. As far as having it tested on you I guess you would need to contact the University along with many other thousands of people and volunteer. Don’t get your hopes up though. In the mean time look at other options such as traditional dieting and weight loss surgery if you have not already done so.
