I wish I had the answer for you. Hopefully one of the readers at this site has over come a similar experience and will be able to offer some suggestions. I received my second denial from Aetna this week stating they would uphold their original denial because the surgery is not a covered procedure. Who can't read over there? For me it is not a surgery for weight loss; I don't even qualify for bariatric surgery any longer...it is a 'revision' but that is to repair a major blockage in my stomach that is related to a 22 year old "bariatric", which I'm not even sure they called it that back then, as well as a severe reflux problem, leaky gut syndrome, protrusions into my diaphragm, and a hernia.. Anyway...Mark contacted the insurance commissioner's office yesterday and they are sending out a packette for me to fill out. They also gave Mark the name of an attorney in California who handles these cases, so we'll go from there. It has really brought me down. I don't think I have felt quite this low in many years. I know I'm probably being ridiculous, but my stomach is getting so bad that I'm almost afraid to eat anything anymore. Oh well, I'll quit now.
